A .gif of Leonardo DiCaprio waving is what started it all in February 2016 when Tasha and Dongwook matched on Tinder. They stayed up until 3 am talking to each other that night and Dongwook asked Tasha on their first date to Funny Plus, a Korean bar restaurant. At Funny Plus, Tasha thought Dongwook was one of the strangest people she had ever met when he attempted to fit a tiny plastic bag over his head, while Dongwook's initial impression was that Tasha "belonged to the streets" because of the giant bag of Hot Cheetos stashed in her purse. After spending most of this rocky first date talking about their exes (a big yikes), they decided to give love a chance and went on more dates.

          After almost two months of dating, Dongwook very romantically asked Tasha to be his girlfriend while looking for a snack in her fridge and shortly after that, he was the first one to say "I love you" while drunk and nearly passed out in a car to which Tasha responded, "not the time or the place for that right now." Don't worry, she did eventually say it back!

 

          Over the years, they've raised their two dogs Gaia and Archie together, traveled to different parts of the world, started their careers, and moved to Las Vegas where they bought their first home. After nearly 7 years together, Dongwook decided to finally propose while they were visiting Tasha's family for Christmas in 2022. He was initially planning to propose on Christmas Eve, but due to the snow storms, the ring's arrival was delayed until the 27th. Tasha's mom, Yume, came up with a backup plan and texted Tasha the night before, telling her that she completely forgot about a photoshoot she had scheduled for the entire family. Tasha somehow completely believed this outlandish lie. Yume instructed Tasha to pose everyone for the photo and while she was posing everyone, Dongwook got behind her on one knee and asked the question. After a brief period of shock that could have powered a small village, she said yes! They cannot wait to celebrate this next chapter of their story with all of their loved ones where it all began in beautiful Colorado.
